Spooler service is so tasty morsel that the great part of viruses are eager to infect it to be unnoticeable on your computer. But in the moment when they get spoolsv.exe file (the most important file of the service), your printer stops to print and nothing will make it to print until you remove the virus and restore the spoolsv.exe file. But not every antivirus software can remove the virus, only those, in the databases of which there is such virus. There are different modifications of spoolsv.exe viruses. But all of them are so malicious that are able to make your printer not to print.
There are also some other reasons of spooler error, for example driver issues. There are some cases when the outdated or corrupted drivers for printer prevent the printer from printing. The drivers can be corrupted also by viruses. So for the case of driver issue you should find the appropriate drivers and install them instead of the outdated or corrupted. But if the viruses were corrupted by viruses, the new driver can have the same destiny after the first reboot. So, for that case you should at first solve the problem of viruses and then install the new appropriate drives that should be also compatible with the model of your printer and your version of Windows.
Viruses are the real error generators. And we can say it concerning different errors on your computer, but not only the printer software errors. So, the best way is to prevent the error than to solve it, when the virus has already penetrated your computer. We recommend you to use any powerful antivirus program and do the full scan for viruses at least once per week.
But if you already have some problems with viruses on your computer and as the consequence of them – errors – so you need to take some measures.
Do the full scan of the system and remove all the viruses. When all the viruses will be removed, then you should do the restoration of the system. There are some cases when your antivirus software deletes virus together with the infected system file, so your Windows system will not load after the scan. So restoration of the system will restore all the removed infected files and system will work fine.
